Year 9 & 10 Curriculum

At Lilydale Heights College students are provided with a stimulating and challenging learning environment which encourages each student to accept responsibility for their own learning. We aim to make learning active, purposeful and engaging. Learning needs to be linked to previous knowledge and to provide a bridge between the known and unknown. Years 9 and 10 provide consolidation and extension of the skills and knowledge developed in Years 7 and 8. These years also aim to prepare students for the successful transition into further studies in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE),Vocational Education and Training (VET) and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).

Years 9 and 10 are important years of study. We encourage students to become more responsible for their learning by offering them an enriching and challenging curriculum that includes breadth and choice. Enabling students to select subjects encourages them to explore, experiment and extend their educational development.
